Stay Safe and Well

It is with a heavy heart that following the recent Government update (which advises no unnecessary travel or gatherings in pubs and restaurants), we have taken the sensible decision to suspend all Work Wise Women meetings, (always held in a public forum of some kind or other) until further notice, as we await further guidance.

We are thinking about all of our members, business contacts and their families at this extremely challenging time and wishing you all well.

Please continue to support each other by keeping connected online via email and social media as we shall too.

Our events this year so far,  have been extremely well attended, lively and so beneficial to all, so we dearly hope that this is a postponement only of our future varied programme, and that we can resume once this worrying time is over.

Please do not hesitate to contact us should you need to.

All the very best

Sarah and Lindsay

Teatime Networking 5.30pm – 7.30pm

Ladies, we invite you to a very special event on 28th April at Abby’s, to celebrate the achievements of one of our members Alexis Powell-Howard and hear about her new initiative, of interest to us all.

In her new interactive talk entitled “Action over Intention” – Alexis will share what she has learned from her experiences of running and expanding her businesses and explore the barriers to achieving our own potential, the impact of ‘self-talk’, ‘trusting your gut’ and how to take action!

Alexis Powell-Howard MA, Managing Director at Fortis Therapy and Training, is a Tedx and professional speaker across the UK and is listed as one of the top 100 female entrepreneurs in the UK.

Fortis Therapy & Training is a multi award-winning therapeutic mental health business, providing comprehensive, approachable mental health and emotional wellbeing services to businesses, organisations, schools, local authorities and private individuals across the UK.

Most recently, Alexis has launched another company called Fortis Training Academy, providing high quality training and CPD opportunities for anyone, on a range of topics and providing personal and professional development opportunities. Something many of us can all access and benefit from.

Alexis established Fortis Therapy and Training in 2012 with a vision of creating the ‘gold standard’ of therapeutic services across all sectors and all age groups and Fortis is achieving this goal having been awarded the National Small Business of the Year 2019 and both a national and an international Best Service Based Business awards in 2019.

This year, Alexis has been asked to be a judge on the panel, for the awards Fortis won in 2019. Alexis has appeared on BBC World Service and Sky News, has been featured in Forbes, and is a regular on BBC Radio.

So do book on for a lovely evening of food and entertainment, whilst networking and having the opportunity to potentially learn exciting new skills.
